TOMATOES
 
 
HEIRLOOM DEFINITION - Any open-pollinated vegetable that's at least 50 years old is most certainly an heirloom.  It's the truest, original form of a      particular variety of vegetable.
 
BRANDY WINE TOMATO - This is a tomato prized for its taste, legendary for its sweet, rich, slightly spicy flavor.
 
 
 
 
 
LITTLE MAMA ROMA - Firm, rich flesh is ideal cooked or diced for salsas and chutneys. Favored for making sauces, pastes, ketchup and for canning.  
 
 
 
RUTGERS TOMATO - People describe it as having an old-fashioned tomato flavor, it's preferred uses are for canning and slicing.
 
 
 
BEEF STEAK TOMATO - The" primo" slicer for sandwiches and they also cook down well for sauces.
 
 
 
BIG RED (NOT HEIRLOOM) - Sweet, red fruit, with just enough "bite" for that old fashioned, home grown taste.  Perfect for sandwiches & salads. 
 
 
 
SWEET 100 CHERRY TOMATO (NOT HEIRLOOM) - The fruit are sweet, with a little acid.  Great for snacking or a wonderful addition to most salads.
 
 
CUCUMBERS
 

 
JAPANESE CUCUMBER - Its flavor is mild and sweet, with only a few seeds.  Great for presentation as it slices in perfect rounds.
 
 
 
  LEMON CUCUMBER - Flavor is excellent, a bit sweeter than normal cucumbers.  Great for slicing and pickling.
 
 
 
 BURPLESS CUCUMBER - Great for slicing and pickling.

BELL PEPPERS
 
Bell peppers mature from green, to orange, to yellow to red.  Flavor does not alter too much, although there is a difference in texture.
